Mary Constance Hillenbrand

Loving mother, daughter and sister, Mary Constance "Connie" Hillenbrand, 71, passed away on Ash Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the home of her daughter in Las Vegas.She was born in Watertown, New York, the eldest daughter of Rosalyn and Merrill Dupee. The family moved to Syracuse in 1953 and Connie graduated from St.Anthony's in 1957. She was a longtime resident of Jamesville, New York, a dedicated mother staying home to raise her four children and later worked and retired after 20 years from Syracuse University's bookstore. After her retirement, she spent summers in New York and winters in Las Vegas visiting her children and grandchildren.She is survived and will be greatly missed by her children, John Henry III (Domenica) Hillenbrand of Henderson, Nevada, Theresa (Stanley) Ikeda of Camillus, New York, Steven (Anne) Hillenbrand of Brewerton, New York and Deborah Hillenbrand of Las Vegas, Nevada; eight grandchildren, Daniel Hillenbrand of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Amy Hillenbrand of Wasilla, Alaska, Victoria and Gabriella Hillenbrand of Henderson, Nevada, Adam Ikeda of Camillus, New York, Sean, Ryan and Noah Hillenbrand of Brewerton, New York; two great-grandchildren, Noel and Madeline Hillenbrand of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.Connie was predeceased by her husband, John Hillenbrand II and her older brother, John "Jack" Dupee and is survived by five siblings, James (Margaret) Dupee, Thomas (Jill) Dupee, Cathleen (James) Britschge, Rosemary Jones and Margaret (Bryan) Rae; and many nieces and nephews.She enjoyed reading, Syracuse University basketball, canning, milkshakes, walking and spending time at camp on Lake Ontario. Funeral services will be held Friday March 25, 2011, 9:30 a.m. at Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York 13205 and 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church, 1515 Midland Avenue, Syracuse, New York where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in the Spring in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Salt Springs Road, Chittenango, New York.Calling Hours will be held Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York.Contributions may be made to The Special Olympics in honor of her granddaughter.
