Meg Paige

Meg passed away on August 14th, 2014 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Florida on July 1st, 2014. Meg married her best friend, Jason Heintzelman, on August 2nd, 2013 at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Syracuse, NY. They resided in Crestview, FL. Meg graduated from LaFayette High School in 1997. She graduated from Herkimer Community College where she was given the opportunity to spend a semester working at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. She then graduated from Cortland State College with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Meg’s first teaching job was on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. It was there that she found her passion for kindergarten and her “little friends.” It is also where she met her husband, Jason. They later moved to Crestview, FL and she taught kindergarten there as well. Meg loved all her little friends but was especially devoted to the ones with challenges. She was loved and respected by students, their parents and the wonderful teachers she taught with as part of the kindergarten team. Meg is survived by her husband, Jason Heintzelman; her parents, Larry and Fran Paige; her sisters, Susan (Brian) Leahy and Beth (Mike) Allen; her brothers, Larry Paige, Kevin Paige, Bob Paige (Renee), John Paige and Matthew Paige. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Jack and Reagan Leahy, Amelia and Liam Paige, Adrianna Paige, and Camryn, Nicholas and Zoe Lewis. She is also survived by her grandmother, Katherine Paige; her great aunt, Ceil Racht; her aunts, MaryAnne Timmins, Kathleen (Jake) Morzak, Marilyn (Ed) Downs, Christine (Jack) Marshall; and her uncles, Robert (Urai) Paige, Thomas (Maureen) Paige, Timothy (Mary) Paige and Paul Paige and many cousins. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Robert Paige, John and Paudie Timmins; her uncle, Greg Paige and aunts, Jean Timmins and Ann Paige Trejo. Friends and family will remember Meg as fun loving, kind and with a smile that lit up every room. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Church of the Nativity at St. Joseph’s, 6136 Cherry Valley Turnpike, LaFayette. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours will be held Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 2584 Field Lane, LaFayette.
