Agnes A. Reilley

Agnes A. Reilley, 87, of Alterra at Summerfield Village, Onondaga Hill, New York, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 3, 2006 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Joan Reilley of Camillus, New York. Agnes was born February 11, 1919 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the daughter of Patrick and Annie (Lynne) Herbert. She spent her early years in Lincoln Park, Michigan. During the depression she moved to Syracuse to live with an aunt on Park Avenue and graduated from St. John the Evangelist High School. It was shortly thereafter that she met and married Gerald A. Reilley, her husband of 50 years who died in 1992. Mrs Reilley retired in 1993 as the director of the Medical Record Department at Van Duyn Home & Hospital and prior to that worked in the same capacity at Community General Hospital for 10 years. She graduated from Onondaga Community College and achieved her certificate as an ART before taking her position at Van Duyn. She was a resident of "The Valley" in Syracuse, New York for over 50 years, was a member of St. James Church and was involved in many local and community organizations. Agnes was a master gardener who took great pride in her gardens both at home and at Alterra. Mrs. Reilley is survived by her two sons, Dennis (Joan) Reilley of Camillus, New York and Patrick Reilley of Syracuse, New York; brothers, Desmond Herbert of Jackson, Michigan and Charles Herbert of Manistee, Michigan as well as her three beloved grandchildren, Alison Reilley of Dedham, Massachusetts, Patrick Reilley of Yokuska, Japan and Andrew Reilley of Buffalo, New York. She was predeceased by a daughter, Eileen Reilley in 1998. Calling Hours: Friday, December 8, 2006, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York.
