Ana Maria Ortiz-Adams December 3, 1944 - July 18, 2011 Ana Maria Ortiz-Adams, of Syracuse, New York died Monday, July 18, 2011 in Central Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after a long fight with complications of diabetes. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on December 3, 1944, to Maximo and Maria Ortiz, Ana was a graduate of The Inter American University of Puerto Ricos School of Nursing; however, she was also a woman of many talents and passions. Being a woman who loved life and every opportunity it had to offer, throughout her life she was employed in a wide variety of occupations: a nurse, home-health aid, an assembly-line worker at Chrysler Corporation, a bar maid, and she even learned to drive semi-trailer trucks where she drove local routes. After an injury, she was medically retired at her last place of employment, Sirocco of Syracuse, New York. She was an avid outdoor adventurer and enjoyed living in Upstate New Yorks rugged environment. She chose to live out her days in Syracuse because she loved the people, the landscape and the natural surroundings. Medically retired at the young age of 43, Ana enjoyed several hobbies such as traveling & gardening. She had a heart a heart of gold and spent most of her free time driving friends around who were unskilled drivers, and starting and tending to numerous flower and vegetable gardens for family and friends. But her greatest passion was fishing During the warmer months you could always find her with a fishing pole at the bank of some beautiful lake, especially where there were trout to be caught. She went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved the Lord, and would have us remember one thing: know Jesus, live, walk, trust and rest in Him. Her family cherishes the memories of her faithful love for all, which was rooted in Jesus faithful love for her. Ana is survived by her five children, Eston Jr., Anna, Dawn, Yvonne and Daniel; her mother, Maria; her brothers, Carlos and Gerardo; her sisters, Lydia and Maria; her 18 grandchildren, Emmanuel, Patrick, Curtis, Amanda, Fretonda, Miranda, Eston II, Chevail, Jasmine, DTriche, Quanasia, Kiana, Christian, Daniel Jr., Aaliyah, Devontae, Keyondra, and Elijah; 15 great grandchildren; 15 nieces and nephews; 19 great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as a countless number of loving friends. The wake will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2011, from 2:00 5:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., located at 4612 South Salina Street, Syracuse, New York 13205 The funeral services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2011, 10:00 a.m. in Bellegrove Missionary Baptist Church located at 219 West Castle Street, Syracuse, New York 13205. Burial will take place in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York 13207. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bellegrove Missionary Baptist Church, 219 West Castle Street, Syracuse, New York 13205.
