Josephine E. Myers

Josephine E. Myers, 91, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Iroquois Nursing Home with her loving and supportive family by her side. She was a long time resident of The Valley area in Syracuse, New York and had recently found a loving home at The Villa's at Summerfield where she reunited with some longtime friends. Born in Solvay, New York, she was the daughter of the late Noe and Mary (Balduzzi) Colotti. She attended Solvay High School and retired in 1995 from the food service department at Community General Hospital. She was a former communicant and was very active at Our Lady of Lourdes where she taught Pre-Cana, was a member and past president of their Altar & Rosary Society and bowled in their afternoon bowling league. She was also a Girl Scout leader. She was a great seamstress, knitter and crocheter and she was a fantastic baker. Josephine was predeceased by her husband, Allen J. Myers in 1994; her son, Arthur Lawrence Myers in 2002 and brothers Noe L. and Sisto B. Colotti. She is survived by her son, Allen W. (Karen M.) Myers of Fairmount, New York; daughters, Patricia A. (Louis R.) Squadrito of Camillus, New York, Michele M. (Merton J.) Zalewski of Pompey, New York and Pamela J. (Kenneth) Albrecht of San Diego, California; sister, Marian Abel of Zephyr Hills, Florida; grandchildren, Paul of Carbondale, Colorado, Lisa of Seattle, Washington, Jon of Denver, Colorado, Michael (Meryl) of Bloomington, Illinois, Julie of Denver, Colorado, Angelina (Daniel) of Sacramento, California, Erin and Kelly both of Fairmount, New York; great-granddaughter, Farrah of Bloomington, Illinois; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 4, 2011, 9:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Drive, Fairmount, New York where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, 4100 E. Genesee Street, Syracuse, New York. Calling hours will be held Sunday, April 3, 2011, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York.
