Margaret Kalil Fire

Margaret "Peggy" Kalil Fire, 80, of LaFayette, New York, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, died Saturday morning, November 6, 2010 at Community General Hospital after a long illness. Born in Syracuse, New York, Peggy was the daughter of the late Assed and Mary Kalil. She was the devoted wife of 34 years to the late Louis A. Fire. Peggy was co-owner of Pam's Diner and Dutch Treat Restaurant, both in Liverpool, New York and she retired from Syracuse City School District. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. She was a fantastic cook and baker, enjoyed trips to the casino, crocheting and traveling to the St. Ann's Shrine. Peggy was passionate about her family and loyal to her religion. She was also predeceased by a sister, Jane Ann Pearsall and a brother, Frederick Anthony Kalil. Peggy is survived by her only daughter, Theresa (Randy) Stevens of LaFayette, New York; grandchildren, Jennifer (Lewis) St. Andrew of Lyncourt, New York, James Guinta of Liverpool, New York, Danielle (Matthew) Caveny of Syracuse, New York, Margaret Simanteris of Syracuse, New York, Courtney Kelley of Buffalo, New York, Brittany Kelley of Syracuse, New York and Jessica Lee Willis of LaFayette, New York; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane Kalil of Liverpool, New York; brothers, A. J. (Audrey) Kalil of Fayetteville, New York and Joseph J. (Elizabeth) Kalil of Indianapolis, IN; sister-in-law, Mary Kalil of Syracuse, New York; brother-in-law, Oscar Pearsall of Liverpool, New York; several nieces and nephews.
