Marian F. Hester

Marian F. Hester, 87, of 209 Sunrise Drive, Syracuse, New York, went home to God on Saturday, December 11, 2010. She was a lifetime resident of Syracuse, New York and was born on March 22, 1924, in Syracuse, New York. She was the second daughter of Frank and Antoinette Kunzelman and was given in marriage to Walter Hester on October 22, 1949. They were married for 61 years. She is survived by Walter, and their one son, Steven Hester of Snellville, Georgia. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Ann Hester; and her three grandchildren, Jenny, Stephen and Janie Hester, all of Snellville, Georgia. Her surviving siblings are Ellen Kessler, Norma Kessler, Germaine Corbett and Francis Kunzelman all of Syracuse, New York. Marian was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church. She was an active bowler and golfer and was a founding member of the St. James Women's Bowling and Golf leagues. She and her husband were also lifelong members of the Pastime Athletic Club and belonged to numerous country clubs in the Syracuse area. She was a loving and friendly person and will always be remembered by her family and friends as an outgoing, athletic, energetic person who truly loved her family and friends. She will now be spending the Christmas Season with her father and mother; her sisters, Shirley and Mildred; and her brother, Chuck, who have gone before her. I am sure that all her other family members and old friends that have gone before her will be also be visiting with her and celebrating the birth of Christ like they used to at 807 First North Street. She will be missed but never forgotten and will live on in our dreams. We love you--sweetheart, mom, grandma, sis, aunt Marian and my friend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2010 in St. James Church, 4845 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York 13205. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 4069 Howlett Hill Road, Syracuse, New York 13215.
