Patrick N Dimperio

Patrick N. Dimperio, born May 9, 1922 to Nicholas and Angeline (Mucci) Dimperio, died unexpectedly at the age of 88 on January 28, 2011 in Vero Beach, Florida. He was a devoted and loving husband to Arlene (Patten/Laws) Dimperio for 58 years; she passed away in 2006. Pat was born and raised in Syracuse, New York, graduating from Most Holy Rosary High School in 1941. He was a clerk typist in the US Army with the 300th General Hospital Division in World War II, being honorably discharged in 1945. He was a custodian with the Syracuse City School District for 37 years, retiring in 1985. He enjoyed hunting, being a family man and his love for God. He lived in Syracuse, New York most of his life, moving his family to LaFayette, New York in 1969 and became a "snowbird" to Vero Beach, Florida in 1992; he and Arlene enjoyed lovely weather at their winter retreat. Pat was predeceased by his son F. Joseph Dimperio in February 1960, granddaughter Nicole Soleil in July 1978, and brothers Carl A. and James N. Dimperio. Pat was a hard working and loving father. He is survived by six children, Nancy (Tim) Marshall, Gerry (Bill) Kaufman, David Dimperio, Steve (Traci) Dimperio, Jean (Rich) Hoag and Jackie (Bill Anastas) Stanton; nine grandchildren, Jessica (Alex) Taylor, Billy & Krissy Kaufman, Leela & Shane Dimperio, RJ & Samantha Hoag, and Patrick & Ashley Anastas; six great-grandchildren, Christian, Khiel, Chelsea, & Charity Taylor; Stanley his sister, Roseann (George) Bronner-Elsbree; and his half sisters, Margaret (Frank) Salerno & Kathy (Bill) Kowich, and many nieces & nephews. Pat was dearly loved and admired by many, a living example of what a man should be. Many of us consider him a Saint. He will be deeply missed and always remembered. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011, 9:15 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 2584 Field Lane, LaFayette, New York and 10 a.m. in Church of the Nativity at St. Joseph, 6136 Cherry Valley Turnpike, Route 20 East, LaFayette, New York. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Minoa, New York.
