Voiese Jamal Pinn

Voiese J. Pinn August 17, 1972 - September 14, 2012 Voiese Jamal Pinn, 40, departed this life Friday, September 14, 2012 after a brief illness. A native of Syracuse New York, Vegas spent most of his time in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated with a regents diploma from Henniger High School and went on to study at CW Post College in Rhode Island, New York. Vegas was a well-known rap artist and club bouncer. Vegas, a lyrical genius, enjoyed writing new songs and spending time in the studio, as well as traveling all over the south to perform his latest hits. Voiese joins his parents, Sherry l. Greene and Vernon C. Pinn and his maternal and paternal grandmothers, Wilma J. Greene and Betite McKee. Vegas leaves to mourn; his wife, Donna M. Pinn; four sisters, Vawanyi Greene-Hughes (Lyle Hughes), Basheera Jihadd, Munirah Jihadd, and Sameerah Kwakye; one brother, Charles Clemmons; three cousins who were like brothers, Julian Heyward, Bobby Baxter Sr. and Charles “Boss Man” Miles; 14 children, Janee’ Pinn, Chalet Pinn, Aaron Voiese Pinn, Jin-ni’ Pinn, Tyjon Bradford, Tyler McLeod, Voiese Pinn Jr., Izavia Washington, Jahon Smith-Pinn, Viari Pinn, Daivon Pinn, Safiyyah Pinn, Donovin-Voiese Pinn and SaDonna Pinn; his aunts, Betite Parrish, Camille Ramsey, Beatrice Knights, Jennifer Pinn Stacey Stockton and Tracey Phillips; his uncles, Todd Pinn and Joey Stockton; niece, Jaiveona Southward; nephew, Safi Dreher; as well as special cousins, Shanica Myles, Betite Myles, Nathan, William and Juanita Baxter . Voiese was a protective but loving father, husband, brother, uncle and friend to many who will continue to love and miss him. Voiese impacted everyone who had the pleasure to know him. His legacy of strength, encouragement and determination will live on through those who loved him. Services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York 13205. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, 940 Comstock Avenue, Syracuse, New York 13210. Calling hours will be Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home before the services.
