William J. Emerson

William J. Emerson May 19, 1932 - March 11, 2013 Bill Emerson, 80, of Nedrow, New York, died Monday, March 11, 2013 at University Hospital. A native and life resident of the Syracuse, New York area, he was the son of the late Albert and Mary Boland Emerson. Bill spent many great enjoyable years coaching little league baseball and softball. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and was a member of the New York State Big Buck Club. He spent many enjoyable years following Onondaga Central High School sports. Mr. Emerson retired in 1993 from Niagara Mohawk following 35 years of service in the gas and electric service departments. Following retirement he drove school bus for LaFayette Central Schools for 11 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Frances. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Jane Brenchley; sons, Patrick (Janet) of S. Otselic, New York, Michael (Kathleen) of Ontario, New York and Mark (Rebecca) Emerson of S. Onondaga, New York; daughters, Julie (Ralph) Piccinino of Rush, New York and Jennifer (John) Nakoski of San Diego, California; brothers, Jack (Jean) of Marcellus, New York and Daniel (Barbara) Emerson of Georgetown, New York; sisters, Elaine (Fred) Melvin of Bridgeport, New York and Diane Ross of Cleveland, New York; grandchildren, Amanda Card, Erin Patel, Brandon and Shanna Emerson, Kaitlyn, Bradley, Kaylee Emerson, Alexa Collins, Alaina and Nathan Nakoski; great grandchildren, Zachary, Connor, Dhevin and Colin. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013 in St. Patricks Church, Route 80, Otisco, New York. Burial will be in South Onondaga Cemetery, Makyes Road, South Onondaga, New York. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 2584 Field Lane, LaFayette, New York 13084.
